Kitchen Installation, Twickenham

Problem – The customer had been living without a functioning kitchen and only had a microwave and sink in the room. She needed a solution that made the most of the space and gave her a fully functioning kitchen within her budget. The customer had also had issues with previous contractors and so was nervous about using contractors to carry out more work in her home.

Process – Stephen spoke to the customer initially when she contacted us by telephone, explaining how the process works with our no obligation design consultation carried out by Julia followed by the quotation sent afterwards. Stephen explained that the meeting was extremely relaxed and as the quotation was not produced on site, there was no high pressure sales involved. Stephen sent the customer a copy of our brochure and gave her time to think about whether she wanted to book a design consultation or not.

The customer contacted us again a few weeks later with some questions relating to the design consultation and Stephen had a conversation with her, helping to put her apprehension to rest. She then decided to book a design consultation with Julia.

Julia carried out a design consultation with the customer, discussing her ideas and talking about the various options available for her kitchen. Discussions also took place in relation to which appliances were required within the kitchen. During the design consultation, Julia showed the customer some samples so she could see what the finished room might look like.

As part of the project, the customer required some building work to be carried out as well. Julia therefore also arranged for a builder to attend the property and provide a seperate quotation for that part of the work. Julia recommended that the customer used this builder as he is one that we work closely with and we would then be able to make sure that both aspects of the project were done with the minimum of disruption.

As part of the quotation, Julia provided some hand-drawn images to show the customer what the completed room would look like. She also advised the customers on which appliances may be best for her requirments whilst explaining that the customer could source these elsewhere if she wanted to. The customer was happy with the quotation and decided to go ahead with the project.

As part of the installation, Julia arranged for the builder to do the first part if his work shortly before the kitchen was installed. During this part of the project, the builder carried out some plastering, installed a new light, installed the floor tiles and carried out some electrical work in preparation for the installation of the kitchen.

The second part of the project was the installation of the kitchen and this took four days. New units, worktop, sink, tap and an oven were supplied and installed - the customer was providing her own washing machine and fridge/freezer. On the first day of the kitchen installation, the customer commented that the fridge/freezer she had ordered from another supplier was out of stock and the company had not informed her of when it would be back in stock. Stephen therefore contacted one of our suppliers and was told that that particular model was out of stock with the manufacturer for six weeks. Stephen passed this information onto the customer who was very grateful and promptly ordered a different model.

Once the kitchen was installed the builder then returned to connect the appliances, box in the pipework to the boiler and mains water supply pipe, carry out the wall tiling and decorate the walls.

Solution – The new kitchen provides the customer with a modern clean look within the room and provides the maximum amount of storage for her. The transformation of the room is amazing and the customer now has a functioning kitchen and no longer has to rely on her microwave to cook things in. The project has helped to restore her faith in contractors and she commented that both the builder we use and our kitchen fitter were "outstanding people" and that Julia and Stephen made sure the project was a "smooth process" with no issues at all. She is extremely happy with her kitchen and is recommending us to friends and family with no hesitation.
